Found Color

Identify 2 different colors to use for found color research.  For each chosen color collect at least 16 objects to organize into a color collection that will be photo documented. Explore variety in different surfaces and materials.

Tint, Shade, Tone Chart

A selected primary, secondary and tertiary color will be used to study the creation of various tints, shades and tones of color.

Harmony + Contrast

Each palette investigation is based on the specific rules of color harmony. Multiple unique variations of each harmony are developed to f ind different expressions of color and different emotive qualities of each specific harmony.

Composition Contrasts

Color application starts with researching a topic or audience. It is through directed research and observation that one can define which colors will most accurately evoke a desired mood, capture attention, or convey a specific narrative. In this assignment students research a chosen word contrast to define specific qualities unique to each word that can then be explored through color representation, form and compositional layout.
